Beautiful Reunions

Some may say that as time slips by, whether you like it or not, friends will come and go. And I often wonder why would they let their friends go just because they are not classmates or officemates or neighbors anymore. Sad to say, it really does happen and it's all because of our choices. Growing older usually means changing priorities, preferences and even lifestyle. And with this new life comes new people that will eventually turn out as new friends.

But luckily for many of us, while we gain new friends, we also choose to keep our good old ones. This is probably because we believe that friendships don't require daily conversations and meet ups-----BECAUSE REAL FRIENDSHIPS DON'T HAVE REQUIREMENTS AT ALL. No matter how seldom you see each other and talk with each other, it will always be your choice to preserve that longtime connection.

So to all my good old friends, thank you so much for choosing to stick with me.
'Til our next reunion! :)

The 4-Month Hiatus

Brace yourselves as this is going to be a veeeery long post bombarded with lots of photos. As promised in my previous post, I will really do my best to once again be an active member of the blogosphere despite my busy sched. But before that, let me just give you a rundown of what transpired these past few months.

Annual Family Tradition
A Grand Reunion/Gift Giving before a year ends has been a tradition of our family in my Mommy's side for years now.

My Sister's Birthday Feast
The Big 3-0 definitely deserves a Big Feast. Thanks to my sister for this Vikings treat.

Welcoming Twenty14
Ken and I welcomed 2014 with a bang with my fambam.

Getting Fat Fit Together
"Antaba nyo!" "Ay oo friend, tumaba talaga asawa ko! Bwahahaha!" Teka, NYO??? Kasali pala ako dun!!! Huhuhu! :) But thanks to these harsh words that convinced our lazy asses to hit the gym whenever we have free time and HOPEFULLY, we can do this more often.

New Work = New Buddies
I got a new job late last year and that means...I have newfound friends. Yey! So most probably, you will see these faces frequently as I blog about our random dates.

The Wedding Guests
Ken's former colleague invited us for her wedding and this was special to us because, believe it or not, it was the first wedding we attended (as guests) together. I loooooooove weddings!

Guinness Book of World Records
I'm so proud to be a part of the World's Largest Charity Walk. This was for the benefit of Yolanda victims and most importantly, for the glory of our Lord God.

A Weekend at Tagaytay
Breakfast at Bag of Beans and Lunch at Leslie's: That was how we celebrated my 26th Birthday. Thanks to you, chilly Tagaytay.

Parents For A Day
Since we don't have our own kids yet, we borrowed my two nieces for our Family Day in our office. So we became Mommy and Daddy of 2 for a day. Practice time!!! Though it was a happy feeling to have cuteey buchingchings following you around and vice versa, ang hirap din pala! As if they are always in full battery. Hindi kaya ng lola powers ko! hahaha! I salute all the Moms and Dads out there. And as early as now, please Lord, give me all the energy that I need for my future munchkins. Amen. hehehe!

So there. That's it for now. Hope this compensates for my 4-month absence in the cyberworld. 'Til next time! :)

A Happy Kind of Busy

I've been missing in action for 4 months. Wait! 4 months??? Unfortunately, Yes!! And I even forgot my blog password so I had to do a whole kaboodle of steps before I was able to post this. Wag ka na magtampo. haha! Writing is still and will forever be my first love. It's just that, as time slips by, priorities do change. I've been caught up by several different things happening simultaneously: Misis duties, work, home redecoration, church activities... and the list goes on. This is my life now and I'm embracing it happily.

But in spite of this busyness, I would still love love love to maintain this little space in the World Wide Web. So from this forms a promise to myself that blogging will again be a part of my happy busy list so please stay with me.
May we all be a happy kind of busy! :)

Anniversary Lunch Date at Revolving Restaurant

We decided to celebrate our first wedding anniversary by having a simple Lunch Date. Though we didn't really plan exuberantly for this day, of course, we still wanted it to be different and special. So a few weeks before our anniversary, we started to look for the perfect place that would comply with our three little requirements: 1.) Good Food 2.) Pleasant ambiance 3.) Uncrowded Area. Good thing, a friend recommended this unique and lovely resto in the Metro.
I was completely blown away by its ambiance when we stepped inside the restaurant. It was like Love at First Sight! Having your lunch with an awesome backdrop is definitely a romantic setup. But I was just using my phone when we took these photos so these won't really give justice to the real feel of the place.

We ordered Charcoal Grilled Baby Back Ribs and A la Creme with Mushroom and Truffle and I must say, we did a good job in ordering the right ones. Delish food!! But here's a heads up for you especially if you're kuripot kids like us. You might find yourself having small gulps once you've seen the bill but it will definitely be worth every cent especially for special occasions like this.
Chef Jessie's 100 Revolving Restaurant is a 360° revolving, fine dining restaurant in the Philippines. It is located  at the 33rd floor of Mercury Drug Corporate (MDC) Building, Eastwood, Libis. The revolving part of the restaurant is the carpeted area and it will take more or less 2 hours to complete one revolution. You may also choose to sit on the non-revolving part which is at the center.

We weren't able to call beforehand to place a reservation but they were super duper sweet to give us some complimentary sweets when they learned that it was our anniversary. Many thanks to the great staff of 100 Revolving Restaurant for making our first a very memorable one.

Our First Year

Looking back to the first twelve months of our married life, we couldn't help but be amazed at how we were able to survive our bittersweet first year. It wasn't a smooth one and not even close to that. We've had our ups and downs which tested our faith to stand by our vows. Like any other couples, we encountered a lot of trials but never did we let these trials break us. Instead, we choose to become stronger and better husband and wife. That, for us, is a validation that God is, indeed, in the center of our marriage. And now we can say that we're prepped up to face more challenges ahead.

Thank you so much to everyone who extended their well wishes and celebrated with us. Next year ulet ha? hehehe. :)

Love,
The Villaflors

Pray For The Philippines

Watching the news since the Super Typhoon Yolanda slammed the Philippines has been heartbreaking and it's becoming more and more heartbreaking day by day. But on a positive note, it's really overwhelming to know that many Filipinos and even other nationalities are eager to help our countrymen in their own ways; proof that the spirit of Bayanihan already became worldwide.

I've also been keeping my eye on the Social Media as well these past few days which became an instrument to disseminate different means to help and to inspire everyone to be of help. So what's really the point of this blogpost, if you may ask? Well, I'm not going to dictate what one can do in this time of tragedy but I just want to give you a friendly reminder. There is no doubt that everyone has a heart to give a helping hand but let us just remember that our good deeds should be motivated by a SINCERE desire to help our brothers and sisters who are in need.
The Social Media, indeed, has been a powerful tool but let us also be responsible netizens. Instead of sharing malicious information from unverified sources or taking advantage of the situation for public recognition, let's just offer what we can do to help sincerely and wholeheartedly. And most importantly, PRAY. It really works.

#PrayForBohol

If you've been reading my blog, you're probably aware that my husband and I had our honeymoon in Bohol 6 months ago. We were able to explore and enjoy its beauty so it's really heartbreaking to look at the After-the-Earthquake photos of a place close to our hearts. After hearing the sad news, I couldn't help but revisit my blog posts of our Bohol adventure and reminisce our beautiful memories of this Visayan gem.

Let us continue to pray for Bohol and the rest of Central Visayas and Mindanao.
God bless us all.

Enchantingly EKciting!

I've been to Enchanted Kingdom for the nth time so I pretty much have an idea of what to look forward to: GUARANTEED FUN FUN FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. And even though I expect some body cramps after hours of walking around and ride-hopping and irita tendencies because of the scorching heat of the sun, none of that stopped us from bringing the partey partey to EK for my niece's birthday two weeks ago.

The newest additions to its rides and attractions are EKstreme Tower Ride and Disk-O-Magic. I'm actually not adventurous when it comes to theme park rides but after hours of contemplation, I was able to convince myself to try EKstreme. BUT BUT BUT while on our way, they announced that they will be closing the park in a few minutes. We didn't notice that it was nearly 9PM. Haaaay! Sayaaaang!! (BUTI NA LANG!) Hehehehe!

But wait, there's moooooore!!! In celebration of its 18th Anniversary, Enchanted Kingdom offers a couple of exciting promos. One of those is their Birthday Promo. Now, you can celebrate your special day at EK for FREE. Yep! You read it right. FREE!!! Sounds music to your kuripot ears, eh? hehehe! Just present a valid proof of your actual birth date and they will give you a special wristband that entitles you to have free entrance, discounts and aside from that, you can also enjoy countless birthday greetings from their staff as you roam around the park. My niece was actually amazed that almost everyone knew it was her birthday. Oh diba, celebrity status for a day! How cool is that? :)

Visit their website for more info about their promos.
