Linaw Beach Resort

Our flight to Tagbilaran was booked December last year and that was 4 months of waiting so just imagine how our giddiness grew month after month especially when we were searching for a nice and affordable hotel to stay in. There are so many pretty hotels and resorts along the beaches of Bohol but since we wanted a relaxed and quiet place, a dear friend recommended Linaw Beach Resort.

(Photos above are from their website)

You need not to worry if you're coming earlier than the check in time. Your room may still not be available but there are lots of activities you can do while waiting. Ken and I enjoyed playing Table Tennis, Billiards (Looking at my amateurish hand position and my awkward face, oo na guys!! Hindi talaga ako marunong!!) and Darts. They also have Table Soccer and a whole lot of board games and the best part is...you can play all those for FREE. Oh diba? You'll have such a sporty honeymoon. hehehe!

I couldn't help taking photos in every corner of their picture-perfect landscape so brace yourselves. You might get sick and tired of our faces in the next few seconds.

The resort nestles in a secluded part of Alona Beach. Although they have a private long stretch of white sand beach, the only downside is that the sea itself is not always accessible for swimming but they offer services which will take you to the busy sides of the beach where the night life is for a reasonable cost. But if you just want to have some quiet time, you can just chill on their quirky beach sofas and chairs or take a dip in their swimming pool while waiting for Mr. Sun to rest.

So there, our first newlywed escapade. It doesn't really matter how long or where you spend it. The real essence of it, for me, is to have quality time together, to discover new things about each other and to collect beautiful memories as you continue to travel through the happy marriage road.

Going Around Bohol

Every trip that Ken and I had occupies a special place in our travel-thirsty hearts but our recent trip to Bohol is our very first "just-the-two-of-us-trip" and that made it even more special. As promised in my travel video post (Watch it here), let me take you to a virtual trip to one of Visayas' gems.

(From top to bottom: Blood Compact, Hanging Bridge, Man-Made Forest, xZOOtic Animal Park, Butterfly Sanctuary)

Another famous spot is Bohol Bee Farm, a resort and restaurant which promotes an organic lifestyle from the food that they serve to their architectural designs (their walls and floors are made of coconut shells).
They also serve home-made Ice Cream. We tried their Malunggay Ice Cream and I soooo loved it that I almost forgot to leave some for my Mister. HAHAHA!

We even had a mini field trip as we were toured around the resort. I'm so amazed by how they strive to make the environment a healthier place which left me thinking "Sana ganito din sa Manila". Bravo to the Bohol Bee Farm peeps!

Just in time for lunch, we went to Loboc's Floating Restaurant. Though the food was just so so, I would still tag it as a Must-Try in Bohol. You get to eat all you can while cruising along Loboc River and being entertained by folk dancers and singers along the way. That's definitely an experience to remember.

And then, we finally met one of the smallest primates on earth. Note: Ken didn't really touch that 16-year-old-tarsier. He's not that brave to do that. Hehehe!

And of course, a trip to Bohol won't be complete without visiting the oh-so-chocolatey-hills. Insert some drama here: "Dati sa picture ko lang sila nakikita. Ngayon, ako na ngpi-picture sa kanila!!!" Okay, enough of the drama. Hehehe! You just have to prepare to climb the stairs to reach the deck to have a magnificent view of the Chocolate Hills but believe me, it's really worth your 200-plus steps and your pawis. hihihi!

Travel Video: Bohol

After 4 months of being married, we finally had our first out of town trip as Mister and Misis. I'm excited to share with all of you our Bohol adventures but for now, here's what we call "our little project". It's actually our first time to create a travel video and this is a very amateur one so don't expect too much, okay? Please bear with some shaky clips and the disgustingly cute finale. Bwahahaha! Enjoy! :)
