How to Apply for Marriage License

Yey! We're done with all the legalities. I must admit that Ken and I encountered a lot of hassles but believe me, applying for your license will make you realize the value of marriage even more. 

To all the soon-to-weds, this might be helpful.

Note: Requirements / Steps may vary from city to city. The following are just based on the City of Manila.

Requirements:

1. For 18-21 years old

    *Birth Certificate (NSO Copy)

      Latest original copy of Baptismal (if no record of Birth)

    *Valid ID with address in Manila (Original and Xerox Copy)

    *Parental Consent 

      Note: Parents must come personally with valid ID (Original and Xerox)

    *Marriage Counseling (Manila Health Department & MSWD)

2. For 22-24 years old

    *Birth Certificate (NSO Copy)
      Latest original copy of Baptismal (if no record of Birth)
    *Valid ID with address in Manila (Original and Xerox Copy)
    *Parental Advice 
      Note: Parents must come personally with valid ID (Original and Xerox) 
    *Marriage Counseling (Manila Health Department & MSWD)

3. For 25 years old and above
    *Birth Certificate (NSO Copy)
      Latest original copy of Baptismal (if no record of Birth)
    *Valid ID with address in Manila (Original and Xerox Copy)
    *Marriage Counseling (Manila Health Department Only)

Steps:
1. Request for Order of Payment (Php 120)
2. Attend Seminar/s
3. Submit all the documents at the counter for the Application for Marriage License.
4. Release of Marriage License is after 10 days

Marriage License is valid for 120 days.
Reminder: Please observe proper attire during oath taking (Avoid wearing shorts , sandos and slippers)

Note: This can be used ONLY as a guide. It's still best to contact the Manila City Hall or inquire personally.

Thanks to my creative, resourceful (and camera-shy) friend, Shasha Concepcion, for giving this plain umbrella from Robinsons Magnolia (Everything at 85), a sophisticated and glam look by sewing in a tela with sequins from Divi. Everyone gazed on it like a bida of a Teleserye and by seeing the finished product, they thought we bought it somewhere. Well initially, we really thought of just buying a unique umbrella for our shoot...but if you can't buy it, then Do-It-Yourself!

Soooooo...did you like it??? or did you like it??? Oh yeah, you have no choice but to say you did! hahaha :) 

Kidding aside, we want to thank Kuya Gian, Ate Fidji and the rest of the Photoimagicraft Team for coming up with this Save The Date Video. I was actually hesitant when we first learned that we’re gonna have a Pre-Wedding Video because we really don’t want to look like trying hard artistas and even though I joined every declamation contest back in my elementary days, I won’t settle for my alms-alms-spare-me-a-piece-of-bread-kind-of-acting (and I’m pretty sure you won’t like that either,hehe!) So right from the start we made it clear that we just want to make it light, natural and happy….and here it is! They captured it sooooo well. One of the many reasons why we love this husband and wife tandem, aside from they are my sister’s friends, is that they are suuuper fun and comfy to be with so our shooting day was..yah, tiring..but we enjoyed every second of it. We can't wait to see more of their works as they are our official Wedding Photographers and Videographers.

Beauty Heroines

Simplicity is Beauty. That has always been my peg...but everytime, it just becomes Simplicity is--errr--SIMPLE!! hahaha! On a regular day-to-day basis, I never wear make up AT ALL. And so I realized, Johnson and Johnson should pay me or at least make me their ambassador for being so loyal to their baby powder. :) But honestly speaking, I always have this admiration for women who do well with make up. Buy hey! I can do that as well! Ha! Let me prove it!!

What do you think? Hmmm. Oo na! Hindi naman talaga ko marunong. What a shame! Angyabang ko pa naman. I guess I'll just stick to my baby powder then. hehehe! So if you want some credible make up advice, don't ask me. You better talk with these lovely ladies.

Nadine Villanueva

Ten is Ken's colleague, an interior designer in the corporate world and a hair and make up artist in the showbiz/fashion world who has worked for several TV and print ads. I had my trial make up with her on the day of our Prenup Shoot (a tipid tip for brides-to-be!) and she will be the pretty-fier on our Big Day (separate review, soon). Foodtasting-turned-Foodtripping

Just last week, we had our food tasting with Ibarra's Catering. It was so nice of them to allow us (Ken and I were with my family that day) to turn our food tasting into another family bonding as it was originally intended for 2 persons only and to all engaged couples out there, I recommend you to do the same (only if it's possible) because it's not only fun...it's also better to know different opinions.

Of course, I won't be sharing our menu here (for the spirit of surprise, haha!) but all I can say is....I became more excited!!! We'll be serving our dear guests delicious food and I can't wait to hear their tummies shout for joy (fingers crossed). 

Yep! Two thumbs up! And I even have in my mind a What-To-Munch-On-First-List. I'm sooooo ready to be a burping bride!! hahaha!

BeKe's "Real" Prenup Shoot (BTS)

Remember our Indoor Prenup Shoot? (if not, click here) That was just a sort of "trip trip lang" (but wow-fully captured by my Ate Rollaine). Now, here's the real thang! A few days ago, Ken and I had our Photo and Video Shoot with Photoimagicraft by (Kuya) Gian and (Ate) Fidji. This is not something new these days. Prenup Shoot / Engagement Shoot / Pre-Wedding Shoot (or whatever you call it) is now included in every engaged couple's long list of Things To Do and you can actually see a lot of them shooting here, there, everywhere, all day, everyday. But what I loved about our own Prenup Shoot is that it became a holiday family bonding as well. Sounds awkwardly fun right? And yes, it is! A bit awkward but a lot of fun.
